Ambassador Peter Taksoe-Jensen hosted a working dinner with the Danish Minister for Business and Growth

Ambassador Peter Taksoe-Jensen hosted a working dinner with the Danish Minister for Business and Growth

On the 2nd of September nine companies and the Chairman of the Honorary Advisory Board of the American-Danish Business Council (ADBC), Ambassador Laurie S. Fulton, participated in the working dinner with the Minister of Business and Growth Henrik Sass Larsen. The event was hosted at the Ambassador’s residence. Also Danish media were present.

America is the largest Danish export market outside the EU for the export of products and services. For the Danish maritime sector the market is one with very great potential. Today Danish shipping companies are responsible for transporting 15 percent of all goods coming into and leaving America. With the US economy improving and a potential Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the U.S., trade is poised to become even greater.

The dinner was focused on how the Danish government can facilitate continued growth and prosperity in both Denmark and the US. The companies were selected to create a theme around maritime/shipping as well as other Danish and US companies to make the discussion as nuanced as possible. At the roundtable the companies presented their view of improving exports to the US and different success stories.
The minister continued his trip in the US to the West Coast and the innovation Center Denmark to experience the US hot spot for innovation and entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley.
